about me

I'm thinking of doing an about me page. So here I am.

Should I start with the basics first then? Or should I just jump straight to the complicated? I shall be weird and start from the complicated.

Um.. What is complicated? I also don't know. Oh well, now I'll just start from the basics. *sweat* But I'll tell it in a complicated way. Muahaha.

It was a (most probably) dark (maybe not) and (definitely) cold day when I was born. Got anything? Maybe that was too complicated? I'll just say it in normal easy plain English.

I was born early in the morning (the most probably dark day) in London on December 19, 1987 (maybe not dark day - winter usually has early mornings right?, definitely cold). I had quite a lot of hair. Seriously. And its real thick. My parents said my hair resembled a rambutan.
that's a rambutan. a type of fruit. its sweet and really delicious! its seasonal though. so by the time i go home, there's none left.

Unfortunately (or fortunately since you get to meet me :)), my dad decided to go back to Malaysia (M - short form) about six months after I was born. I do not why and neither does my mother.
I was thin in the olden days. During the later years of my primary school days, I grew out of porpotion. Now, I am fat. I admit it and its true. I love eating. Thats why.

Eating is one of my favourite hobbies. Malaysian food is what I love best. Which is why I do not want to stay in NZ forever. I quite like Western food. I'm tired of Chinese food. And I don't really like rice. Although I am Chinese.

this is called bak kut teh. it is good food.
i miss it!!

I am a Chinese Malaysian. So are my parents. I think my grandparents came from somewhere in China. Both of my parents are from Perak although they met in London. My mum is from Taiping and my dad is from Sungkai. Sungkai is such a small place that there is no article about it in Wikipedia. Sungkai is quite near Bidor though.

This post is about me so I should talk about myself and not my parents. So, I really don't know much about London. I would want to go back and see my 'hometown' though. Although everybody keeps telling me that it is not my hometown.

I currently am studying Accountancy at University of Canterbury in Christchurch, New Zealand. This is my second year. Its not a bad place to study. I am a Christian. Christianity has many definitions according to different people. I believe however that Jesus Christ came down to earth from heaven to die in replace of us. You can debate this. But this post is not about Christianity, its about me. (I'm being selfish again.) I attend Christchurch Chinese Church here in New Zealand and SS Gospel Centre back in M (Malaysia). I am also involve in the International Christian Fellowship here on campus.

I have a younger brother (4 yours younger). He's going through his teenage phase now. So I rarely talk to him. I have many nieces and nephews and cousins due to my mother's many siblings. I also have a cousin who is only two years younger than my mum. I really like that kind of family. Complicated. But fun.

Being born in London has its benefits and downside. Like when coming here to NZ, instead of getting a 1 year visa like everybody else, I got a 3 years visa (the length of my study years). The only difference between me and my friends is that I was born in London. So that must be what made my visa special =) The downside is like when I went to do my IC (Identification Card) back in M, I had to wait for about half an hour before they discovered that my place of birth is in United Kingdom. Bah.

All in all, I have a pretty good life. My parents don't beat me for not getting an A. I'm pretty sure they love me. If not, God loves me. I am not suffering from proverty (although I may - soon). I still act childish sometimes. I am not really worried about life. I'll write about my ambitions next.
one of my many nieces..

*I'll try to update this page every year. Or maybe more often. Depending on my mood.
