The end of Bersatu

Yesterday was the last day of Bersatu. At last badminton was done. This time we had to wait for the Auckland people because the guy was playing both in volleyball and taking part in the Athletics which was all going on at the same time. There was this one particular match that I liked. Between Canterbury (CMSA) and Otago (OMSA). Singles Men Final. The guy from Otago walked over. He wanted to keep his energy for men doubles. He was kind of cute too. Heh.

The finals for basketball and sepak takraw was interesting. I was the score write/keeper and I did make a few mistakes. But not really my fault. It was scary when everybody was like 'eehhhhhh wroooong' and started pointing at the score board where I was standing.

Bersatu means unity in English. I did not really see much unity. We were competing against each other for goodness sake! Mana ada bersatu? There might be some among those who knew each other from years before. For me - I did not really make any new friends from the other contingents. I met a few new ones from Canterbury though.

They had the closing ceremony at Grand Chancellor Hotel including dinner. The volunteers had to pay $45 compared to the participants $50. Well, it definitely wasn't worth it. The food was ok nia. The decorations nothing to shout about although the table was done up nicely.

I had no mood to take pictures though as I had to wake up at 7.30am that morning. Don't ask. By the way, I found out that there were a lot of Malaysians who speaks Hokkien.

On another note, organizing an event for ICF is not easy!!People had so many demands. I also didn't know booking the day before was not a good idea. How would I know that so many other people would go for laser strike. Then people start telling me that they want to go only after I booked the place. Ashley's friends from US paid for our dinner. I was surprised and actually happy. Heh.

I went to the airport with Jen and Jas last Sunday to send Audrey off. It was surprisingly a touching moment. I almost cried but after I saw Jas' face, I had no mood to cry.

I'm waiting for somebody to pass me some admin pictures. Then i will post it up.

Currently, I am still very sleepy and am waiting for laundry. Then I have to pack my bags for Dunedin. I'll be off tomorrow. Coming back on Monday. Oh I just remembered. Somebody from church is also leaving for 3 months. Sigh.

Is this post too long?

p.s. I found out Xiu reads my blog. And Genevieve just asked me for my address. This is scary. I seriously have to tapis what I write here. Heh.
