My Ideal Husband by Emma Chin

As opposed to An Ideal Husband by Oscar Wilde.

As I have been learning about BGR (boy-girl relationship), I just wanted to share with you what I think I would want in my ideal husband. It may that I will never marry or my future husband is nothing like what I have in my list. This list of mine does not have any particular order. You may find some of the things on it weird. But I assure I have given some thought on it. Except for the 'must' qualities, I am quite flexible. I think.

Here goes nothing:
  1. Must be a male from birth
  2. Must be a real true Christian - not just one who talks but don't act
  3. Cute - in my eyes if not yours
  4. Knows at least all of the languages I know namely English, Hokkien, Malay, Mandarin, Cantonese - i don't mind if he knows more than me, its just that at times when i want to describe something in that particular language/dialect it takes out the euphoria if that person don't know it
  5. Speak good (if not perfect) English - since my main language is English, i'm not sure whether should i make it a must. what do you think?
  6. Rich - or at least well of to afford a maid: i am that lazy!
  7. Must be a non-smoking male - i seriously dislike smokers especially when they are smoking in front of me
  8. I don't mind if he drinks occasionally but I do not want an alcoholic
  9. Similar hobbies - then he won't buat bising when i buy booksss =)
  10. Smart - I wouldn't mind if he's smarter than me but I wouldn't somebody too stupid
  11. Being an orphan is a bonus - I don't have to deal with in-laws
  12. Have some class - I wouldn't want a husband who doesn't know how to use a fork and knife simultaneously (maybe i'm too picky?)
  13. Likes to help around the house - yeah right!
  14. Jack of all trades - save money :)
  15. I think age doesn't really matter to me.
  16. He should be able to get along with my family and friends.
  17. Funny
  18. It would be good if he is a Malaysian Chinese - same everything is easier: no culture clash
  19. Similar values - it will be easier for our marriage life eg raising our kids
  20. Same height or taller than me
  21. Not too thin - i would need somebody who can support me (i am fat)
  22. Must not be too China man thinking - somebody a bit less extreme than my dad will be good
It wasn't that easy coming up with all these 'qualities'. But if I found somebody who has all this qualities, he would be perfect husband material :o) I will keep on praying!

Today is studying day. So bye bye.

[a picture of wentworth miller used to be here, i've taken it down since its odd]
