Seriously!

I really do want to blog.

Seriously.

But my stupid internet is sooooooo slow and I can't upload any pictures. It is getting on my nerve. I suppose I could use uni's computer but I am too lazy. If I am rajin I might use uni's internet instead of my broadband.

Anywayz, these are a couple of things that I noticed:
  1. Kiwis are lazier than I am. They say Yum instead of Yummy.
  2. It is getting colder.
  3. I haven't done anything else besides watching ER and numb3rs and reading since my exam.
  4. My room was untidy. Now it is half untidy and half not.
  5. I found out that quite a few of YAG people has blogs. Sadly it is all in Chinese. Hopefully, they will never find mine.
  6. On dancing - "If one was going to spend so much time moving about, one might as well be doing something useful, like mending a fence or fixing a roof. - Benjamin Rowland, Earl of Winchfield from The Incomparable Cassandra" I thought that was such a true statement although it might not apply to Now time. I also thought 'moving about' was funny!
  7. It is hard to organize an event for ICF.
  8. I might be getting a sore throat soon.
That should be enough information for now without any pictures. Your eyes must be hurting, yes? No?

God bless! :)

my views on sex

I finally remembered one of the subject that I want to talked about. Its about sex and having boyfriends/girlfriends from a Christian point of view. Some of you may be embarassed by what I am going to talk about, so don't read further on. Its my blog and I want to write about it.

I promised Mel that I will blog about it. And I am finally here =) Some of you may pengsan, I know but this issue is very normal around the world.

I also needed some input from a mature Christian. I just got it a few days ago. I just hope she won't mind me putting it here. Some of you might know Yin, some of you might not. She's a friend from church. Quite old (sorry) and cool too for her age. I didn't know who else to asked. I wanted to ask Aunty Olivia but I wasn't too sure what she would think. So I asked Yin although she takes about a month to answer. =)

Okay, I know from the Bible that we're not suppose to be having sex before marriage and also sex outside of marriage and all that stuff. To read about it in the Bible, click here.

Yin suggested I read "Eros defiled" by John White. I have read a book on these stuff from another Christian book but I still can't remember the title after thinking about it for so long. But it talks about love and sex and marriage. Quite a thin book too. It talks about the difference between infatuation and love too. I'll have to borrow Yin's book too cause its from the 1970s. lol.

Okay rite. I know I don't want to have sex before marriage. I have promised God that I won't. I am just praying that I'll be able to keep that promise and that temptation won't lead me away. Which is why another point that Yin brought up is that I should date a Christian guy. A mature Christian guy. One that is serious about living it for the Lord, then it could be a good and pure relationship. That is I think very hard to find. Already there are lesser Christian men than women in the Church.

Dating a non-Christian has a whole lot more dangers of course in that he could very well lead you away from God e.g "Don't lah go to church tomorrow, the weather has been so good lately lets go for a picnic instead...." Sooner or later its not you bringing him to church but he leading you astray. And of course he could really keep harping on having sex and how thats ok to do cause everyone else does it... And of course the dating could get serious and you end up really seriously thinking of marrying the guy. The Bible is very clear on the fact that a Christian should not marry a non-Christian. 1Cor 7:39; 2Cor 6:14.

That whole paragraph is from Yin. I think if I don't have a mature Christian boyfriend I will go astray. Its already quite hard to start looking for a church and continuously attending and getting involved. I was quite lazy at first to go to church, but I forced myself because I know that if I don't I will fall far far away. The following is also from Yin:

A few things may need to be cleared up though... if u look at someone and think..."He is sooooo cute/ handsome. Thats not a sin. But if you end up going further and having all sorts of thoughts about what you could do with him... well thats going beyond the temptation and getting into sin.

And for those who think that they cannot fight the temptation but must sin... well thats not true - 1Cor 10:13.

As to kissing.... well with young people hormones are normally raging and a kiss could very well lead to petting, which if u read Eros Defiled is akin to sex.

Ms Em its not an easy thing to remain pure for God, it really sounds so out of place in the world today BUT God gives us these commands for a very good reason, all for our benefit. A lot of young Christian couples that i know have married very young because it was so hard to keep their hormones in check but i have also seen that many of the marriages do not work because a lot of the time what they saw as 'true love' in the end turned out to be 'true lust'. They did not take the time to really get to know the person, whether you really are right for each other, is the person really who God has given u. Instead the idea of sex blinded them.

If a person really loves and cares for you, they will respect your wishes. Of course it really helps heaps if you pray for a partner of God's choosing. It doesn't matter how young u are, start now!

Ok thats the end of what Yin thinks. But its mostly what I think too. So, I know it really isn't my view on sex but rather God's view. I trust God though.

The reason I have written a post on this subject is because around me people have girlfriends and boyfriends and I was just wondering what is right and what is not right. Now I know, thanks to Yin who cleared stuff up. Thank you very much.

Keep praying!

i know i have put this pic up already but i just want to tell u that i just started watching season 3 episode one and its so good! i really recommend it! + the mathematician is cute =)

vows

vow:
  1. A solemn promise to perform some act, or behave in a specified manner, especially a promise to live and act in accordance with the rules of a religous order.
  2. A declaration or assertion.
~taken from wikitionary~

i have promised myself several things.
among of them are:
  1. I'll never learn accounting voluntary. (after the experience from KH - Kemahiran Hidup)
  2. I'll never straighten my hair.
thats basically it. if you know me at all, you would know that none of that was kept.

the first point.
accounting
what happen? friends have asked me. i was quite against accounting while i was in form 4 and 5.
well. i also don't know. i decided that i like it after taking it in CPU (Canadian Pre-University) and had gotten 90% for it .
i didnt want to do science after what i got in SPM
economics wasn't so bad actually. at first. then it got more complicated with a hopeless teacher. tambahan, i only got 75% at CPU. so Neh!
arts: don't even think of it. what could i do? design? besides the bedroom that i have in my head, i do not have any inspiration.
so what was left?
accounting?
finance?
IT?
Mass Com? NO. too shy.

i did thought of doing speech and language therapy.
however, for that i would need Biology.
me + science = chaos. so tak jadi loh.

actually one of my first choice was to be a teacher. but i don't know what happen. have to go through lots of government stuff i think.

then i wanted to do hotel management. but NO my parents don't like. why? well...
  1. late hours
  2. work on holidays
  3. overwork
  4. underpaid - i guess that was factor number one, they scared that they won't get enough from me when i start work
  5. scared that i would 'die' in the process
therefore CANNOT. so accounting was my last choice. i guess i shouldnt have gave up the speech and language therapist. but when i made up my mind (about doing SLT), it was already in august. in second semester of CPU. it was too late to change subjects and i don't want to stay for another semester just because of bio. i might do it as a second degreeee though. that is when and if i finish this degree and have found a stable job. or maybe when im a housewife (if im ever going to be one)

now that i've mention that, actually my very first dream job was to be a homemaker/housewife.
think about it..
  • free time
  • kids
  • tv
  • books
maybe it doesn't sound very appealing to u. but it does to me. i was thinking very hard about what i want to do when i grow up. this was when i just started secondary school. i needed a job where i could still watch tv and read my books and no studying =) i thought a teacher would be cool but i would still have homework (marking books, preparing lessons, preparing exams etc). i thought of being a librarian. however, later in CPU i found out that i would still have to study to become one. because elena's sister works at Taylor's library and she told me that her sis has some sort of degree (or something) and i was like wah! u need a degree to work in a library. also, i wouldnt have time to read books. i would have to stock and stack up books instead of reading them. then i thought of opening a bookshop. but malaysians don't like reading. i would need money in order to continue reading. so no can do.

then i came up with a perfect one: homemaker/housewife
i would have time to read and arrange my time according to my needs () not bad huh. the only problem was that i would still have to do housework. so i changed it:

a rich homemaker/housewife =)

then i'll get a maid to do the cleaning part.
so i don't get it why some people do not want to stay at home. they want to work instead. working is so boring. u go to work. do working stuff. eat lunch. then back to work. come back. its not bad la coz after coming back u can watch tv and do stuff but there is late hours and early mornings. one more + thing is that there is usually no homework. this doesnt apply to my dad though.
so a stay at home mum would be so much cooler.
n i thought i can also open a nursery day care centre. to earn more money =) however with that there can be more problems: i have to work on weekends too. most likely.

so back to being a rich homemaker/housewife!

but sadly i couldnt get married by 17 so i had to choose something else. its a pity. i would also need to go through drastic measures (losing weight etc) in order to get a rich and good husband.

therefore, the only other choice was accounting. sigh..

second point.
straightening hair
well..i don't know what to say. the fact that my hairdresser keep pushing me to do it. so that my hair would be nice and flat and not kembang. mum was the decision maker. she said yes. so i spent my three hours sitting in a chair reading while letting people do something to my hair. the first few days was horrible as i was not suppose to tuck in my hair, wash my hair. yuck.

but the effect was cool my hair was really flat and nice.
yeah so thats it.

now im going to make another 'vow' and see how long could i keep it:
  1. I'm not going to colour my hair.
lets just see..

edited:
i've forgotten to add something. something that hj said reminded me.

my dad is an accountant.
i never thought i would be like my dad. its incredibly weird. now people are saying im following my father's footsteps.

well..there's one thing that i would like to expose. my dad actually wanted to do law. however, tak jadi so he switch to accounting. (i think)

so i guess people fall back into accounting when what they want to do does not jadi. true?

my mum was a nurse.
i also thought of being a nurse at some point but my mum said it's very hard work. then when i was older i realize i had to study medicine too, so no no no.
