Father's Day

Happy father's day, father.

New Zealand is weird in the sense that they don't celebrate father's day on the same day as most of the world. Its supposedly spring now though. The weather have been real sunny lately. Made the most use of my sunnies this past week.

Work life have been busy in August. Social life kinda busy too.

I discovered the wonder of listening to radios online. Now I can listen to Malaysia's Mix FM online. MIss the accents! And the choices of songs. The radio in Chch is yuck when its night time.

I'm going to Aussie soon! 17 more days. :) And my awesome brother is giving me stuff for his 21st birthday. Heh. Yea, I know. The sentence sounds wrong but it is what it is.

I need to get ready for work soon. Just started being nervous this morning. Didn't hit me that I was going to play the piano for the children's choir for their Father's Day performance until yesterday. It could be a tribute to my father. I guess its cause I don't really understand the song since its not in a dialect I'm familiar with.

Btw, I saw an article headline about ending a sentence with propositions. Apparently, its okay now. Apparently la.

See you daddy.

So..

I was planning to go back in March with Jetstar - this was before Air Asia came out here. However, I couldn't get a work visa under the Graduate Job Search as I could only apply under that section once. I wasn't too worried at first. Then the second quake happen and I could postpone my flight to later in the year. Then the timing changed and I could get a refund. Which was awesome.

I just read my previous posts and do wonder at how my goal changes. I do know my deadlines will change. The reason why I try to say "tentatively". In November, I got offered a part time administrator job in church. I accepted the job. I really enjoyed working in church and as I was a part timer - my time was quite flexible.

I was offered a full time job in April as a Children's and Family Ministry Administrator in church and I accepted too. I prayed and prayed about it and I think this is where God wants me to be currently. I am in the process of applying for a work visa as my current visa will expire in August.

One big adventure that happened for me this year was the Abel Tasman kayaking trip! The trip, the view, the company, the experience. The 6 of us went away for 4 day 3 nights of kayaking and camping. The February earthquake happened on our 3rd day away. I actually felt for Christchurch. It felt really surreal coming back after the trip.

The sunrise on our last day - that was so cool! I really felt really very sleepy too :)

The five of us sitting on a log on our first beach.

It was so cool that we got to camp right at the beach front. I have never gone on a real camping trip before - setting up tents, sleeping in a sleeping bag, cooking on a portable stove thingy, planning.

I went on a "camp" before. But we had other people looking after us then and I can't remember much of what happened. But that trip was really awesome possum! Yup, we met a possum on our last night :D

I hope its going to be a nice long post

cause I woke up so early and I have been meaning to update

So we'll start from the beginning..
[although most likely it won't be in chronological order]

in the month of december, the family came to visit : )
emma and thomas enjoying the segway after the disappointment of no ATV
although after watching trauma and the ATV accident kinda put me off it now for a while

there was me, bro, mother and lm
it was quite fun
stressful at times but i think we mostly enjoyed ourselves
it was quite funny bumping into uncle paul and family at the geyser!
that was the only person we bumped into whom we know the entire trip

in april three of my friends graduated at the same time

gen from icf | emma |  jasmine my ex flatmate

jeff from mosaic | jasmine | emma

i should probably mention now that i am not planning to attend my graduation. i know that my parents spent loads on me studying and that is my final goal but i don't really see a point. my mother already told me its my life. i don't mind getting the gown to pose and take pictures but i really can't be bothered doing the whole ceremony. i have actually been to 3 graduations! apparently (after i told mother about my plan), she told me father didn't do it as well so i'm really continuing on the tradition. heh.

Then one fine evening when my flatmate was working and i was procrastinating i decorated our toilet door with something useful
i got this sign from shakespeare house where we stayed at te anau
i really love it!

so u can either turn it that way or this way :)
very useful if you have visitors

also a quite good friend of mine got married!
and she's the same age as me!
=)

Mosaic had its bbq at groynes park in february
i think everybody had a good time
we played games and had yummy food
mosaic has been going relatively well. although we're still quite small but i'm sure God has his plan for us.

on the third of may a couple of us went kayaking down the avon river.
it was extremely good fun. had a blister on my thumb but was worth it.
had lunch at noodle house after that.

i didn't notice that the picture was not coloured. if u can't see clearly the first picture is of me laughing really crazily. we were trying to take a group picture but i guessed the kayak just got out of hand. haha!

on wednesday afternoons i spend babysitting this little girl :)
i know her parents through icf and the mother wanted to attend a course in laidlaw college on wednesday afternoons and since i was so free with only classes on tuesdays i volunteered
recently she has started saying my name so much which is hillarious

although today is going to be my second to last week :(
sadness!
i miss en and children so much

sadly, i don't have any pictures of icf. icf have been going really well at the start of the year. although now numbers are continuingly dropping, we still have faith that everything will be back after the busyness of the semester ending. its sadly going to be my last year with icf as a student. providing i pass all my courses. icf is cooking this week and God gave eunice to organise it! i'm just the driver and atm. haha.

i've also just helped out with the oscar programme. an off school care and recreation programme. so fun hanging and chilling out with the children! makes me miss vbs and the plentiful supply of babies and children in M!

ahh the group picture is in the other camera!
i don't really know what's up with the hand thing

so the girl on the left was moving to wellington and since she is going to drive all the way up to picton the girl on the right asked the bottom three to join them on this exciting adventure!

look at how char's hand just came up like that!!! it looks awesome except of the dashboard above my head. and the other two is in the picture far far behind =D

we left on a wednesday and came back on friday. we stayed a night in kaikoura then drove to picton to say goodbye to the other car where we then spend the afternoon in blenheim and another night in kaikoura before coming back to civilisation on friday. that was really an awesomo time. it happened only two weeks ago :)

thats basically the gist of what have been happening since my proper update last july. mian that was long.

am gutted that two people are moving away from christchurch

last week of uni is next week. i love this season when all the trees' leaves are falling and it looks so beautiful. uni looks exceptionally awesome during this season :)
i'm still quite uncertain about my future. to stay or not. am praying for God to show me the way. :)

A B C D

On the way back from Maruia Springs...Casino is so colourful, have you ever noticed?
I was thinking of going to the Casino in Genting Highlands. Maybe I'll meet my grandmother there. Lol.

At Antartic Centre,
Ally and I were in the children's room. Looking like children.

A new recipe I googled and tried.
Beef and Mushroom Hashbrown Slice Recipe
It looks weird but its actually quite nice. Quite proud of myself =)

I bought me self a hot water bottle.
Cute right? My very own Mr. Hippo. Only $9 and its super soft and cuddly from Bed, Bath and Beyond.

Before that, I bought this jacket for Mum. At first it was $99.95 but when I took it to the counter it was only $6-.-- something. Cannot remember already.
Luckily, mum liked it.

My own pizza =) during an ICF Make-Your-Own Pizza Lunch.
I can't remember why I made that face.

The gurls at Maruia Springs =)
Friends are another way that God shows us that He cares.

Disappointment!

On a bright and early and cold Wednesday morning, Shiraz, Mer and I wanted to ski. Instead when we reached Mt Hutt, the lift was closed due to foggyness so we wasted $80 to get up there and to see plenty of snow. Although it was my fault that I didn't checked the shuttle bus properly. But we are going again tomorrow with Mosaic people. Can't wait actually =)

This are the views on the way to Methven and Mt Hutt:
Mer loves kicking people's butt :(
On the way up
I learnt something new from Cal. Blu-ray!
This was taken in Uni. Beautiful right ? =)
p.s. Don't worry my new bff, its really all right.

Sore and Snow!

It was snowing on Saturday! Wonderful bliss
Garden outside
Another garden
My poor wet shoes

I texted my mum just to, you know, spread the joy around and my brother came back with this text:
"Weyh.jakun nvr c snow b4.hahaha...noob!"

Just because he saw tonnes of snow in USA. *milok*

I did see snow before but it was funner this time round.
Its a pity that I went for YAG and the others went to Cashmere to play with the snow.
Before that though, I went rock climbing at Roxx. With Mosaic people. Fun but Sunday was painful.. I don't have pictures though. Have to get it off somebody.

Okay since its study break [not a break from study but a break to study], off I go! Till then..

Eventful Weekend

On Friday, Mer's car back windscreen kena smashed by a (presumably) drunkard.
So I teman-ed her to Ferry Road to get it fix. So far, they still haven't found the windscreen. She's quite upset about it.She was driving like that to the workshop
On Saturday (and Sunday and a bit of Monday), Jas and I had our Malam meeting. We went to Nandos in the city with Li and Mer after that.
Chicken!! Our mainCorn on cob
Peri-peri chips
The other half of the chicken
Mer and I on our side
Liyana and Jas on their side
Waiting for bus stop
(like album cover only)

The Four of Us
Posers!
In the bus

Came back at 7pm and went to YAG. So rajin right? After YAG, went to Lake Tekapo (3 hours drive), spent about 2 hours looking at the cloudy sky and later stars. Forgot to take picture! Its just so beautiful. We arrived back in Christchurch around 7am and went to McD for breakfast.

Came back, showered, slept and woke up at 2.30pm to go church. After church (and Ancestral), went back, slept and woke up at 1.30am to finish stats assignment which was due on that Monday morning itself. Finished at 6am and doze off for a while as had to wake up at 7am to go for 8am class.

I know I should have blogged earlier. But I was very lazy. And no mood. Now I'm in front of the TV (watching HSM2: I know cheesy) and the laptop is in front of me.

Yes! I'm going out with Sue Zan and Sam tomorrow :) woohoo. Its going to be fun.

I've realise that after 9 months of not driving I'm quite rusty. But I'm getting better. So hopefully tomorrow everything will be all right.
My niece is getting bigger. Ohhhhh btw big newss!! well, sort offff.. she knows how to sing Beautiful Girls by Sean Kingston!! Althought its only the one word suicidal but I'm aiming to teach her the whole song by the time I go back. Muahahahha. What a horrible song to teach to a 3 years old girl.
Mer, Irene and I went kayaking at the Avon river the day before I left NZ. Very fun experience :) Well at least you know I was kayaking with Jas and the gang. Sort of.

Btw, I went for the interview d. They will let me know on Tuesday.

Clothing

"Clothing. Why do we wear it? Many people believe that we wear clothing out of modesty. In ancient civilizatons, however, clothing was developed not to cover our private parts from view, but merely to keep the body warm. In other cultures, clothing was thought to protect its wearers from magic, while in still others clothing served merely ornamental or display purposes.
In this thesis, I hope to explore the history of clothing - or fashion - starting with ancient man, who wore animal hides for warmth, to modern man, or woman, some of whom wear small strips of material between their buttocks (see: thong) for reasons no one has yet been able to adequately explain to this author." - History of Fashion, SENIOR THESIS BY ELIZABETH NICHOLS from Meg Cabot's Queen of Babble

I really like the above paragraph. Especially the last line which makes so much sense. =) Today because I was deprived of my series (nothing comes out today) and books, I cycled to Fendalton Library to borrow a couple of books. Excerise. I've just finished L. M. Montgomery's The Road to Yesterday.

I've been addicted to these couple of series since the beginning of autumn in US.

Airs on Mondays
Airs on Tuesdays

All the show except for the first one I download. From some sharing folder thingy through the uni's network. Which I am going to miss when I go back. But at home I have unlimited GB so can download. Wakakaka.

Mer Jas and I went to take photos at a photo booth =)
Funny leh..and fun

We had a picnic on one of the saturdays

we were trying to take a picture of the waterfall which u can't see

only two guys went

do they look the same?
i can't decide

it's a bird nest =)it actually looks quite cool hoh?

I've been at this for about an hour now. Didn't think that it would take this long. It should be quite a long post.

I've decided to listen to all of my 3259 songs in my iTunes alphabetically. It will take 9:03:11:48. It should be days, hours, minutes and seconds. It can't be anything else can it? Its 15.21 GB.

Do you know I have only 41.9 GB out of my 320GB external hard disk space left. So many series. Scary.

I think I'm going to be sick. I'm having sore throat.

I'm up to A Moment Like This by Kelly Clarkson.
